Initial ideas for magazine title
Here are some ideas I have though of:
- YourMusic
- Rhythm
- TuneIn
- Musica
- Charts
- Dance
- ListenIn
- Sound
- Ear Candy
- Melody
- Groove
- Mayhem
Three favourite names
•Mayhem: I like this name as I think it sounds exciting, and links in well with my genre. Mayhem makes it sound like a funky and upbeat magazine. The short name is easy to remember, and I think will look good on the front of a magazine.
•Rhythm: When the customers read this they will easily be able to tell what type of magazine this is. Rhythm also adds to the genre as people will know that this is not a rock or classic magazine, it is a pop. Rhythm also sounds like a modern work , and is suitable for a younger age group.
•TuneIn: I like this name as it is blunt but catchy. TuneIn makes it sound like people need to come in to this magazine and read it. ‘Tune’ tells the audience the magazine is about music, making it seem upbeat. I think TuneIn would be a good name as it is short and easy to remember.
Target Audience Profile
This is Rebecca Lewis. She is 16 years old, and lives in Essex. She is currently attending 6th form, studying media, photography, business and art. She has a part time job at Topshop, working 3 nights a week, allowing her to have her own money that she can spend on her favourite things. She spends most of the week concentrating on school work, so she can spend the whole weekend partying and having fun with her friends. She is very out going, and spends the weekend shopping with her friends, and buying outfits for the party’s and clubs she is going to that night.
Although she loves to go out, she also enjoys relaxing with her friends, having sleepovers with pizza and films. Her favourite films are 50 First Dates, The Notebook, Honey and Confessions of a Shopaholic. She is up to date with the fashion, and always on top with the latest trends with her idol being Cheryl Cole and Blake Lively. She shops in places like Top shop, River Island, Zara and H&M. She loves music, and always has her iPod or Kiss100 playing so she can sing along. Rebecca mainly listens to r&b, hip-hop and pop and not very keen on rock or classical music.
Her family are comfortably off, and fall into category 28 ‘working families with mortgages’ in the ACORN classification.
